(Autumn Academic Conference of the Institute for 

the Study of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism ) 

In autumn of 2011, the Institute for the Study of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism held an academic conference titled "Practice
Association, How to Practice?". The purpose of this conference was to set a theoretical basis for 'Practice Association' among the five associations now acting in the Jogye Order. There was an in-depth discussion on both sides as to the direction of this association. One topic was the direction Korean Buddhism sought within the Buddhist circle and the other was the direction Korean
Buddhism sought outside of the Buddhist circle.
